93. Oscar Ödülleri bu yılın en büyük film etkinliği. Adayları açıklayan Akademi Ses kategorileriyle beraber toplamda 23 dalda adaylık açıklamış oldu. Bu yıl Altın Küre Ödüllerine benzer olarak Oscar Ödülleri'nde de bir ilk yaşandı ve aynı yılda iki kadın adaylık kazanmış oldu.

Covid etkisi ile bu yılki adaylarda yoğun bir dijital platform baskınlığını görüyoruz. David Fincher'ın yıla damgasını vuran ama aynı şekilde en çok adaylık aldığı Altın Küre Ödülleri'nden eli boş dönen filmi Mank Oscar Ödülleri'nde de 10 adaylık ile en çok adaylığa sahip film olmayı başardı.
